"We must not see any person as an abstraction. Instead, we must see in every person a universe with its own secrets, with its own treasures, with its own sources of anguish, and with some measure of triumph." - Elie Wiesel
4th international conference
"The healing properties of music are a significant topic in a country with a rich cultural heritage like Austria. In 2008, Austria became the first country worldwide to introduce statutory regulations for the music therapy profession.
The fourth Mozart & Science conference being staged in Lower Austria will once again take an in-depth look at the enthralling question of how music affects human health and wellbeing.
Research into music therapy takes place at the intersection of medicine, art and interpersonal relationships. Proof of the efficacy of music therapy in the interplay between these highly complex areas is essential, and must satisfy the standards of the medical profession, as well as personal quality expectations of the healing effects of music therapy treatments.
In order to achieve this breakthrough, it is vital to consider the diverse range of cultural factors that have an impact on research approaches.
For this reason, the motto of this year’s event is “A meeting of cultures”. We wish you an enjoyable and inspirational conference!"
